One of Mzansi Magic’s most popular and watched TV dramas is returning, and it’s attempting to bring the show back from the very beginning.
Fans were taken right back into the general mishmash of things with the Mseleku family as Musa and his spouses (MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo, and MaNgwabe) gave refreshers about all that has been going on in their lives since we last saw them, wearing a new look and feel as well as a new signature tune.
MaCele is launching her own restaurant, MaYeni is running her own store catering to plus-size women, MaKhumalo has ventured into mining, and MaNgwabe is juggling job and motherhood.
Unfortunately for MaKhumalo and Musa, their ripeness battles continued this season after last season ended with the revelation that MaKhumalo would not be able to imagine normally due to her fallopian tubes’ current state. However, this does not rule out the possibility of seeking medical help during her journey to parenthood. Her greatest stumbling block will be her devoted, traditional husband, who refuses to conceive a child through clinica.
TOP MOMENTS IN THE UTHANDO NESTHEMBU SEASON 4
1. Musa declares that his boys shall be polygamists (despite their opposition).
Fans and viewers were taken aback when Musa sat three of his boys down and told them that they would have to be polygamists even if it was not their preference.
This is because, in respect to the Mseleku patriarch, custom mandates that someone from his lineage marry someone from MaKhumalo’s family and have children with them in order to carry on the Mseleku household’s history.
This means a lot to Musa, who has previously expressed his desire to have at least 20 children. He had a total of ten.
In response to his plea, his sons stated unequivocally that they had made up their minds to become monogamists after growing up in a polygamous household and that the life was just not for them.
2. Musa’s wives despise his role as Mnakwethu’s host.
Surprisingly, Musa’s wives admitted that they, like many other women around the country, dislike his other show.
His first wife, MaCele, appears to be the most outspoken on the subject, expressing her disgust for the show, which she sees as a tool for married men to justify their adultery.
She also was not glad about the fact that her husband was somewhat aiding and also abetting this behavior.
Though she did not say as much as the first wife, MaNgwabe also was noticeably upset during the course of conversation.
While on the topic of infidelity, Musa once again stated his wish to take on another wife. Something his lovers have all put their foot down about, especially the first, MaCele, who has more power to call the shots.
3. MaCele’s accusations of Musa’s dishonesty
MaCele made very forceful accusations, implying that Musa may be unfaithful to his other spouses and that they were unaware of it.
This comes after he joked about enlisting the help of an official girl friend and getting her pregnant to cement her place in his family, even if his wives object.
With the exception of the first, all of his wives were unusually quiet throughout his meetings with MaCele, yet something tells us this drama is far from over…
